Overview: Sourced from one of the oldest, most traditional vineyards planted in Valdeorras, Avancia Godello expresses the authenticity the history of Valdeorras and the oldest Godello clones in the world. A completely unique white wine that ages beautifully and has been recognized by Robert Parker as Spain's best Godello. Godello was almost extinct at the end of the 1980's, so it is extremely rare to find a Godello produced from a single vineyard planted in 1904. Vineyard: Finca Aeiroá (1939) – O Barco de Valdeorras – Pure slate soils intermixed with broken quartz, northern orientation – three field blend parcels planted adjacent to each other, primarily Godello with intermixed planting of indigenous red varieties. Northern orientation; Finca Porto Mourisco (1962) – Petín – Sandy granitic soils resulting of the decomposition of the mother rock, northern orientation. Northern orientation. Traditional dry farmed viticulture. Organic Gobelet trained vines. Cultivated completely by hand. Winemaking: The grapes are hand-harvested and stored in small baskets. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeast in French oak puncheons and demi-muids (500-600 L barrels, respectively.) 10 months sur lie in French oak puncheons and demi-muids (500-600L barrels, respectively) with battonage.

Tasting Notes: Bright yellow color with an aroma of dried flowers, fine lees, pattiserie, and fruit preserve. The palate is round, spicy, and with great length.

Pairing: Shellfish, crab, and lobster.
